Project Overview

Bronson.AI assisted Saskatchewan Polytechnic in modernizing its analytics and reporting capabilities by providing Business Intelligence (BI) and Analytic Platform Software to meet the institution’s organizational needs. In Phase 1 of the project, which began in June 2019, Bronson.AI successfully implemented a Tableau Server at SaskPoly’s Saskatoon campus, including the setup of an AWS hosting server and Single Sign-On (SAML) integration. Additionally, the Tableau Server was integrated with SaskPoly’s Active Directory (AD) environment. Bronson.AI also delivered classroom training for both Tableau admin/server users and Tableau creator users, while managing the project to ensure it was completed on time and within budget. In Phase 2, which ran from July 2019 to June 2022, Bronson.AI continued to provide ongoing, as-needed services to support SaskPoly’s analytics initiatives.

The Challenge

Saskatchewan Polytechnic sought to modernize its analytics and reporting capabilities to align with organizational needs. This involved implementing a comprehensive BI and analytic platform, along with providing ongoing support, training, and project management to ensure full integration and effective utilization of the new system.

Our Solution and Impact

In Phase 1, Bronson.AI implemented a Tableau Server and set up an AWS hosting server, integrating Single Sign-On (SAML) and Active Directory with Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s existing IT environment. They provided classroom training for Tableau admin/server and creator users and managed the project to ensure it stayed within budget and on schedule.

During Phase 2, from July 2019 to June 2022, Bronson.AI provided on-demand analytics and BI consulting services, which included developing data connectors, Tableau dashboards, and advanced analytics strategies to enhance operational effectiveness. They also offered training, software support and maintenance, including firewall and DNS configuration, and managed support requests via Jira. Additionally, Bronson.AI delivered comprehensive project management, overseeing the entire project from initiation to completion, ensuring objectives were met, and managing risks, issues, and budget tracking.

As a result, Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s analytics and reporting capabilities were modernized, improving operational efficiency and decision-making processes. Bronson.AI’s services included:

  • Analytics/BI Consulting Services: Development of data connectors, APIs, database queries, Tableau dashboards, Alteryx/Tableau Prep workflows, advanced analytics strategies, decision support, and the building of data warehouses as needed.
  • Training Services: In-person or remote training, along with the creation of training materials.
  • Software Support and Maintenance Services: Collaboration with in-house IT for firewall, DNS, and Single Sign-On (SSO) configuration, Tableau server updates, helpdesk management via Jira, and handling Level 1 and Level 2 support requests.
  • Administrative Support: Coordination of supportive services and project-related administrative tasks.
  • Project Management Services: Daily management of the project and team, planning and controlling tasks, monitoring progress, reviewing changes, managing the risk/issues log, and tracking budget and time to ensure project success.
