Project Overview

Bronson was tasked with replicating an existing Excel dashboard using Tableau. Specifically, the Ottawa International Airport Authority had developed a dashboard titled the 2019 Airport Comparison Dashboard, which illustrates various metrics about multiple Canadian airports.

Due to the limited utility and effectiveness of Excel for dashboards, it was determined that this information needed to be displayed using the Tableau platform. Bronson was also responsible for developing a methodology to illustrate several productivity metrics, each with different units of measurement.

Bronson worked closely with an International Airport Project Authority to ensure that the Tableau dashboard fulfilled its intended objectives.

The Challenge

The Ottawa International Airport Authority needed to migrate their 2019 Airport Comparison Dashboard from Excel to Tableau to enhance its utility and effectiveness. Furthermore, they needed a new approach to accurately depict various productivity metrics, each characterized by different units of measurement.

Our Solution and Impact

Bronson successfully recreated the existing Excel dashboard in Tableau, leveraging Tableau’s advanced data visualization and interactivity features to enhance the dashboard’s effectiveness. By creating a comprehensive methodology to represent productivity metrics with varying units of measurement, we ensured the visualizations were both clear and consistent

Throughout the project, Bronson worked closely with the Ottawa Airport Project Authority to ensure the Tableau dashboard met their objectives. The result was a more efficient and user-friendly dashboard that improved the presentation and analysis of key metrics for multiple Canadian airports.
